Is 27 inch Full HD a Good Monitor?

If you are in the market looking to buy a monitor for work or for gaming or just for casual web surfing, you surely came across a lot of choices. Monitor comes in different sizes, different resolutions and if you are a non-techie kind of person, things gets a little harder for you. You don't know what to buy for the best value for money. If you are looking for an affordable monitor, check out this list of best monitor under 15000 that comes with full HD resolution and all the great features that let you enjoy the work, gameplay, movies and much more.

For all those gamers, we know you and what you want. A 27 inch monitor sits perfectly for a lot of gamers but would 27 inch Full HD monitor is good to go? Or should you go for 2K 1440p resolution instead of Full HD 1080p resolution? Let's Talk about that.

Before that, lets get something about Pixel Density.

What is Pixel Density?

Pixel Density is a measurement of number of pixels per inch of the display. It is denoted as PPI (Pixel Per Inch). More is always better. The more are the pixels per inch, sharper the image would be. A 24 inch display with Full HD resolution, that means 1920x1080p resolution seems good. That gives you pixel density of 93PPI. With same Full HD resolution on 27 inch display gives you pixel density of 81PPI. When it goes to best large screen tablet with 12.9 inch or 14 inch tablet, we get even better PPI that makes it sharp and crispy display.

Lower PPI means, blurry, pixelated image which is not desirable. If you are into photo or video editing, we will not recommend going for 27 inch Full HD resolution. Instead go for 27 inch 1440p resolution that will give you 108PPI, hence sharper, crispy image. 24 inch display is good when you are using Full HD resolution but if you want big display, go for higher resolutions as well. For 32 inch display, 4K resolution is recommended. You can learn more about PPI and resolution.

Other than Pixel Density, you will find more choices in 1440p monitor than Full HD monitor. Most of the Full HD monitors comes with 60hz or best 75hz refresh rate but if you are using RTX 3080 or RTX 3070, there is no point of 60hz monitor because RTX 3080 can easily give you 140-150FPS at 1440p resolution. Most of experts recommends 1440p 240hz monitor for RTX 3080 and RTX 3070. Here are best monitor for RTX 3080 that includes 240hz 1440p monitor as well as 4K 144hz monitor for 4K 120FPS gameplay using HDMI 2.1 port.
